Circular Chain Projects

To achieve a circular economy, complex supply chains too must undergo significant changes to become circular. This requires a sector-wide approach involving multiple parties and links in the chain. Activities related to organizing chains, collaboration, new business models, and influencing the behavior of individuals and businesses are essential here. Discover how Versnellingshuis stimulates circular chain collaborations.

What Are Circular Chain Projects?

These are projects in which companies collaborate to design, produce, or organize a product, process, service, or business model more circularly. The goal is to reduce resource consumption and CO2 emissions. Practice shows that companies can only achieve structural circular solutions in a chain through collaboration with other chain parties, which doesn't happen automatically.

From Exploration to Realization

Versnellingshuis helps chains to become more sustainable faster, on their way to a circular economy. This means our experts brainstorm, use our network to get the right people involved, mediate between partners, or look for new parties to contribute. The lessons from these projects are used for both new transitions as examples for similar chains.

Versnellingshuis supports chain management from exploration to the realization of projects in the market. We do this for the following phases:

Curious about what each phase entails? View the overview below.

Moonshot Projects

Together with entrepreneurs, Versnellingshuis annually selects five complex chains to help transform. Achieving a circular economy requires changing complex chains, which calls for a sector-wide approach involving multiple parties and links in the chain. Such projects are referred to as Moonshots.

Chain Breakthrough Projects

In this phase, there is already a consortium of chain partners, a signed ambition document, and a Plan of Approach to create a circular chain. Here, the involved parties bring the plan to the circular sector for implementation.

The parties work together on removing obstacles and strive to create the right conditions to invest in feasible business cases. This can be achieved by organizing meetings, making chain agreements, establishing standards, and conducting pilots. All of this aims to move towards the next phase: market introduction. Versnellingshuis supports chain management based on a set of criteria.

Circular Chain Projects Subsidy

Every year, RVO opens the Circular Chain Projects Subsidy. This subsidy allows SME entrepreneurs to realize circular projects in their product or material chain. This could involve a circular product, service, or business model. If you are working with your chain on circular projects, read more and determine if this subsidy is of interest to you.
